Vicar
The Reverend Darin Metz
Darin Metz is a native Floridian who first sensed a call to ministry more than twenty years ago, a journey that led him to serve with Wycliffe Bible Translators for over a decade before discerning a call to ordained ministry in The Episcopal Church. His theological formation at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando and Nashotah House Theological Seminary in Wisconsin shaped his deep love for Scripture, the historic Church, and the beauty of Anglican worship.
Darin is known for his gentleness, pastoral warmth, and commitment to teaching the Word of God with clarity and care. His thinking is especially influenced by theologians such as Richard Hooker, N. T. Wright, and Alexander Schmemann. Outside of ministry, he loves spending time in nature and enjoys fishing whenever he can. He and his wife, Ginger, have two daughters and are grateful for the life and ministry they share together.
He now serves as Vicar of Christ Church, Longwood, where he counts it a joy to walk with the congregation as they grow in the knowledge and love of Christ and shine His light into the community.
Music Minister
Linda Ellison
Linda Ellison has loved music from a very young age, and her early fascination with hymns and songs led her to a lifelong journey in music. She grew up partly in Europe, where she began her formal musical training, and continued her studies at the University of Memphis and Washington University in the United States, earning advanced degrees in piano, voice, conducting, and composition. Over the years, she has had the joy of serving in music ministry at many churches, sharing music in worship as well as performing in concerts, operas, and oratorios. Her first love has always been church music. As she often reflects on the words of Martin Luther, “He who sings prays twice,” Linda finds deep meaning in leading congregational singing and sharing hymns and songs as a heartfelt expression of faith.
